2019 03 24 * THE SMELL [Los Angeles, CA] RL Kelly, Merce Lemon, Cuddle Formation, The Glowing Birds

this was a super nice show. these folks are all so nice and reminded of old smell shows when wcp used to play sometimes. the show started with the glowing birds, who are a mother and daughter. mostly covers but some original songs. super good! super nice to see cuddle formation again. noah did electronics and flute and vocal sounds i think. it was all very pleasing. and merce lemon was out here from pittsburgh and i was super impressed. noa on harmonies, and it reminded me of santa barbara a decade ago. strong girl band vibes as far as song writing style and harmonies go. i loved it. and then of course rl kelly is so great. this time rachel plays acoustic, but with harmonies from merce and noa. amazing!
