2019 05 17 * ORCHARD HOUSE [Los Angeles, CA] Desert Magic, Cooper Wolken, Lindsey Lollie

this was a house show in los angeles, which i really appreciate because those don't seem to happen as often as I'd like. or at least what i was used to in santa barbara. i had been to the house once before but this time the show was in the backyard! it's funny because three years ago i got to have desert magic up in santa barbara and we did a show in the dashain house backyard. came full circle, as they say. they played through the new album, which is super good.

starting the show was cooper wolken who had a 4-piece piano pop rock band. and then there was a performance at the end with ambient music and comtemporary dance by lindsey lollie though i couldn't really see what was happening because it was behind some trees. but i'm sure it was great! also, in the middle of the desert magic set, lindsey had everyone at the show make a big circle and hold hands and lead us in group things like squeezing hands and dancing and i always feel awkward doing these things but it was fun (to watch everyone else having fun).

it's weird also, going to shows by yourself, and though i knew a few people there it seemed like everyone else knew each other. i've just been feeling weird and shy but it was nice to see all these people have a space to do cool things. but yah, it was a nice show! ha.
