2019 05 31 * THE PRESS [Claremont, CA] Only A Visitor, Ruby Throated

it took like 2.5 hours to drive down to claremont but my dad recently got his book made into audiobook so i listened to some of it. it's pretty good. anyway, i was excited about this show and got down to claremont a little early. i walked around the downtown for a bit and saw three bands playing outside. i didn't really have any preconceived ideas about what claremont would be like, but i was surprised. i still don't know why it was happening.

but who cares. i was there to hang, and hang i did. met up with the band, who i last saw when they came and played on the radio in september 2016. we got food at a ramen place (my first time eating ramen at a place) and it was good. i feel like i splashed all over myself though, but i got quite a bit of it in my mouth!

the show was at a funny bar/restaurant. it always seems funny to play music for people whil they're eating. but only a visitor played first and everyone seemed to love it. how could they not?! it was really super good. totally glad i made the drive! this band ruby throated also played and they were pretty good. sad i missed xinxin play but it was getting late and i had to drive home. i'll catch them someday!
