i've been packing as i prepare to move to a new house and it takes a while because i get distracted by all the stuff. i love stuff. i wrote a song about it. but i also wrote a song with the line "got to stop wanting things that i can't grow." i suppose i can both love stuff and have the desire to not accumulate so much stuff. we're complicated beings. i don't even have most of my things here with me. it's mostly stacked in my parents garage. so much of what i have though are items i've diverted from the landfill, and i feel cool about that. and the rest of it is like writings/drawings/notes from friends and a ton of tapes/cds. so many cdrs. also zines and books. i'd love to have a space someday where i can actually organize and display these things. and share them with all the people that have actually successfully stopped collecting objects heh. i mean, i guess this is why libraries and archives exist? media in common. though i don't think regular libraries have the interest in or space for your cdrs, so i'll just keep them safe. in bins on shelves in my parents garage.
