i've been listening to music as it's released or comes into my life. i have a very long queue of things to listen to. some years ago i calculated that it would take me six years to get to the point where i'm listening to music as it comes out. this was assuming that each week i'd be listening to 50 albums and only adding 30 albums to the queue. but it seems like i've be listening at a slower rate and accumulating at a faster rate. i spent most of the past few years getting through maybe 30 albums each week, and accumulating more like 50. the reverse. hmmm. this means i won't ever catch up ever ever.
